Museum of Science & Industry Field Trips

Join us on a homeschool field trip to MOSI in Tampa!

What Does MOSI Offer?

MOSI features hands-on, inquiry based STEAM exhibits, including engineering, robotics, physics, optics, health and wellness, weather and space science. Students can lie on a bed of nails, build a robot, explore optical illusions, challenge themselves with hands-on brain puzzles, visit a lunar colony, and learn about planets and our solar system in the Saunders Planetarium. MOSI will have vending machines, but there will be no café on campus, so please bring your own lunches in coolers. We have a place for cooler storage and for our guests to eat lunch, but we are not equipped to store individual lunches.

What Does The Field Include?

1- A hands-on Interactive Lab, hosted by MOSI educators, & tailored to specific age groups and science learning goals:

Up, Up, & Away
(K-2nd Grade)

Explore the world oof space travel through the eyes of an astronaut.  Learn the parts of a rocket and then blast rockets up in the air! Finish your journey with a taste of astronaut ice cream. yummm

Kinetic Art
(3rd-5th Grade)

Experience the action of art in motion as students master he mechanics of movement by building a Rube Goldberg-style machine. Teams work together to build a complex machine using pulleys, gears, marbles, and other engineering contraptions. Combining fundamental forces with creative invention, students will experience the pride of building a wild, moving chain reaction.
